Koi Terms of Service

Contact: koisupport@koidatingapp.comWelcome to Koi. By creating an account or using Koi, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Koi. By using the app, you confirm that you are 18 or older and legally allowed to enter into these terms.
Your Account
You are responsible for your account, your profile information, and activity that happens under your login. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it updated. You may not impersonate another person, use fake photos in a misleading way, or create accounts for fraud, spam, or harassment.
Community Expectations
Koi is meant to be used respectfully. You agree not to:
Harass, threaten, abuse, stalk, or intimidate others
Share hateful, violent, sexually exploitative, or illegal content
Upload misleading, stolen, or clearly deceptive profile information
Upload, send, share, or display nude, sexually explicit, or sexually exploitative photos, videos, or other content through profiles, messages, or any part of the app
Use Koi for scams, spam, solicitation, or bot activity
Attempt to bypass blocks, suspensions, limits, or moderation actions
Interfere with the app, its services, or other users’ experience
Profile Information and Optional Details
Koi may allow you to share profile details such as gender, relationship goals, location, height, weight, lifestyle preferences, religion, politics, children preferences, photos, and bio information. Some fields may be optional. You are responsible for what you choose to share.
These details may be used to improve matching, apply filters, and help other users make informed decisions. You can usually update your profile information later.
Matching, Likes, Passes, and Feed Behavior
Koi uses profile information, filters, mutual compatibility, and in-app logic to decide which profiles appear in your feed. Not every user will be shown to every other user.
Koi may consider things such as:
Your selected filters
Mutual interest or compatibility
Relationship preferences
Distance or approximate location
Recent in-app activity
Prior passes, likes, matches, blocks, or cooldowns
Safety or moderation restrictions
If you pass on someone, like someone, or are already matched with someone, that person may be temporarily or permanently removed from your feed. Koi may also use cooldown periods before certain profiles can appear again.
Daily Swipe Limits
Koi may limit the number of likes or swipes you can make in a given period. These limits may change over time. Reaching a limit does not guarantee additional access later that day, and trying to bypass limits is not allowed.
Smart Match and Optional Ranking Features
Koi may offer optional matching features designed to improve profile ordering and discovery.
Smart Match may use patterns from your in-app activity, such as profiles you like or pass on, to better order the profiles shown to you.
Opposites Attract mode may intentionally show profiles that differ from your usual patterns to increase variety and discovery.
Koi may also use engagement-related signals, mutual preference logic, or other ranking adjustments to improve feed quality.
These systems are intended to improve ordering, not guarantee matches. They do not guarantee that any person will appear in your feed, like you back, respond to you, or remain available.
Messaging and Calls
If Koi allows messaging, voice features, or calling between matched users, you agree to use those features lawfully and respectfully. You may not use them to harass, threaten, record unlawfully, spam, or exploit other users.
Koi may limit, remove, or disable communication features at any time for safety, technical, or moderation reasons.
Reports, Blocks, and Safety Tools
Koi may provide tools that let you report, block, mute, ignore, or otherwise limit interactions with other users. If you report someone, Koi may review profile data, reported content, and relevant account activity for safety and moderation purposes.
Blocking another user may prevent that person from appearing in your experience again, though Koi does not guarantee that every safety action will be immediate or perfect in all situations.
Moderation, Strikes, Suspensions, and Removal
Koi may investigate reports, enforce community standards, issue warnings or strikes, restrict visibility, remove content, suspend accounts temporarily, or permanently ban accounts at its discretion.
We may take action for safety concerns, policy violations, repeated bad behavior, attempted abuse of the app, or other conduct that harms users or the platform.
Certain moderation actions may limit your access to features such as the home feed, matching, messaging, or profile visibility.
Violations involving nudity, sexually explicit content, or sexually exploitative content may result in content removal, account restrictions, strikes, suspension, or permanent removal from the app.
Child Safety Standards
Koi has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation, child sexual abuse material, grooming, trafficking, sexual extortion, or any sexual exploitation of minors. Users must be at least 18 years old to use Koi.
Any content or behavior involving the sexualization, exploitation, endangerment, or grooming of a minor is strictly prohibited. Koi may remove content, restrict accounts, suspend users, permanently ban users, preserve relevant records, and report matters to law enforcement or appropriate child safety organizations where required.
Users can report profiles, photos, messages, calls, and behavior they believe may violate these standards. Reports may be reviewed for safety, moderation, legal compliance, and abuse prevention purposes.

Photos and User Content
You keep ownership of content you upload, but you give Koi permission to store, display, process, and use that content as needed to operate the service. This includes showing your profile to other users, generating matches, and supporting moderation and safety reviews.
You may not upload content you do not have the right to use.
Nudity is not allowed on Koi. You may not upload, send, share, or display nude, sexually explicit, or sexually exploitative photos, videos, or other content through profiles, messages, or any part of the app.
Privacy and Data Use
By using Koi, you understand that profile data, app activity, and account information may be stored and processed to operate the service, improve matching, maintain safety, prevent abuse, and support core app features.
Koi may use technical protections and verification tools to protect the service, but no system is guaranteed to be perfect or uninterrupted.
Account Deletion
You may be able to delete your account from within the app. Deleting your account may remove your profile, photos, and related account data from active use, though certain records may be retained where reasonably necessary for safety, abuse prevention, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute handling, or internal recordkeeping.
Bugs, Downtime, and Feature Changes
Koi is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. Features may change, be removed, stop working, or behave differently over time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, successful delivery of notifications, perfect matching results, or permanent availability of any feature.
No Guarantee of Results
Koi does not guarantee matches, responses, dates, relationships, compatibility, user honesty, or user behavior. You are responsible for your own decisions and interactions, including any in-person meetings.
Limitation of Responsibility
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Koi is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for losses arising from user behavior, user content, app interruptions, account restrictions, moderation decisions, or failed matches/interactions.
Changes to These Terms
Koi may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after updates means you accept the revised terms.
